Planning a fall beach getaway to 30A? You’ll want to add this one-of-a-kind experience to your South Walton travel itinerary!

A glow-in-the-dark kayaking adventure with Glow Paddle 30A takes guests on a 45-minute excursion through Western Lake, the largest of the area’s rare coastal dune lakes, aboard an LED-lit clear kayak. Led by an expert guide, this nighttime experience provides guests a unique opportunity to explore the lake in a magical setting suitable for all ages. Nighttime glow paddles take off from the WaterColor BoatHouse in Santa Rosa Beach. Spots fill up fast, so reservations are highly recommended.

What to Know Before You Glow (Paddle)

  • Wear a comfortable swimsuit and/or cover-up, and a raincoat if it rains. You’ll be on the water, so expect to get a little wet. Pro tip: leave a change of clothes and a towel waiting for you in your car.
  • Already a pro paddler? You’re welcome to bring your personal paddling gear, too!
  • Life vests are always on board and available for children under XX and upon request.
  • Expert guides will ensure your excursion is both fun and informative. They’re also committed to keeping you safe and are familiar with Northwest Florida’s paddling environments and quickly changing weather conditions. Excursions will not take place in high winds and thunderstorms.

In the fall months, Glow Paddle excursions begin at 5 p.m., with the last kayak departing at 9:45 p.m. from The WaterColor BoatHouse (250 Watercolor Blvd.). Hours may vary; for booking information, visit glowpaddle.com or call 850-979-4569.

Guests staying at a Watersound 30A hotel also have seamless access to rentals and guided tours from the WaterColor BoatHouse, managed by BoatHouse Paddle Club, including daytime kayak and canoe rentals, standup paddleboarding (SUP), and a variety of other 30A outdoor experiences.
