Visitors searching for unique Northwest Florida travel experiences need to look no further than the Watersound Club® Sporting Preserve. Located just north of the acclaimed Shark’s Tooth golf course, the area’s only sporting preserve provides guests with a distinct and elevated experience amid the region’s natural beauty.

As a coveted Watersound Club amenity, the Sporting Preserve is available only to club members or visitors staying at Camp Creek Inn. The hotel’s guests enjoy exclusive resort privileges, including 30A’s most sought-after experiences.

The sporting preserve features a 15-station sporting clays course, with clay throwers that change direction weekly to provide a dynamic shooting experience each time. Whether you’re a novice or an experienced shooter, the course offers engaging challenges for all skill levels.

During each session, guests aim to hit clay “pigeons,” discs that are approximately four inches in diameter and presented at various angles, speeds and distances to mimic the flight patterns of game birds. The course also offers clay “rabbits” that mimic hunting ground game.

Three Kawasaki utility vehicles are parked on a sandy dirt lot, with tall pine trees and a blue sky with clouds in the background.

Adding to the distinct experience is a 1.5-mile ride aboard a Kawasaki MULE all-terrain vehicle from the Shark’s Tooth Clubhouse to the preserve. Guests also have access to a selection of guns available to rent, as well as ammunition and other retail items for purchase.

Guests can participate in group or private lessons under the guidance of General Manager and Lead Instructor Michael Abbott, a National Sporting Clays Association (NSCA) Level 1 Certified Instructor. Additionally, classes and clinics are also available to guests of Camp Creek Inn through the hotel’s Concierge.

Six people pose outdoors at a shooting range, holding shotguns, standing on a wooden platform surrounded by trees. Spent shell casings are visible on the ground.

The sporting clays course is accessible by reservation only, Wednesday through Sunday, either at 8 a.m. or 1 p.m. Reservations can be made through Camp Creek Inn’s Concierge.
